Not all had “good” mothers

NOTE: I REALLY try to change & sort out these bad feelings, but its taken to this point to even write about her...

I'd as soon as write about about my dog than her...

Poem Artwork

I gotta say,

I really do envy,

Those with good moms,

The kind we read about,

Helping their kids to grow,

Not fill them with all kinds of doubt…

Okay, so my mom was not the devil,

She may now be an angel, definitely that though I doubt,

When I was little, before I realized how bad she was,

I was happy with and ran to her in needful times,

But after 12 or so things changed, lower was my spirit level…

Died in two thousand & four,

In my head I kept singing the ding-dong song,

My blood family in front of the church,

Me in the back with my CLOSER friends, in the lurch…

I don’t even have a picture of her,

None to at this time put on this poem,

So instead I will put the pic that tells her “tail”,

You can well imagine how bad feelings do not fail…

Bummer. I did chuckle, with you, not at you about the ding dong song. That was a funny line. Patrick

This is so sad, Ed...unfortunately its true for far too many children...they grow up with no happy memories of their mother. I guess the truth is some women were never meant to be mothers...they just don't "get" the blessing that children are....

ED ... so sorry to learn of your childhood misfortune. And I'm glad that you had the

wherewithal to disclose such a painful truth in such a public place and manner.

However, two old sayings come to mind:

First - from Mark Antony - "... the evil that men do is oft interred with their bones, the good lives after them, so let it be with Caesar."

Second: "To Err is human - to Forgive - Divine."

Perhaps she herself had a miserable childhood? Perchance one which caused her to be what she was? Now that you have released your Anger, maybe some day that therapeutic action will allow you to be the 'Better Man' that you are, and eventually Forgive her?

Although just a 'cuz' ... I send you a REALLY BIG BEAR HUG! TK.

P.S. - Know that you are Loved - AGAPE type, by Many Caring Readers!

Sadly just as their are children who mistreat their parents as they age so too are there parents who abuse or don't appreciate their children. I was indeed fortunate to have two parents, a loving mother who showed her affection and a strict but also loving father. Didn't have them for a long time but I will always have them in my memories. I hope if you didn't have the mother you would have liked somewhere along the way you found a role model that showed you what a mother should be like.

You wrote many times about Rufus, but still, on this day, you commemorate your Mother (good or bad) with this cathartic remembrance. I applaud your honesty and fortitude Ed. Now, in a loud voice, forgive her from your heart, and release that dynamic into the spirit realm. richard

Ed, My parents should never have been 'parents', but
one has to forgive as best they can and move over...

Yes that is true, after all Mothers are human and make mistakes. But she gave you a life. And with your writing talent a good life. Something to think about my friend.

Such a sad Mother's Day piece, my friend. I hope some good memories of your Mom soon replace the bad. And you know me, I just wrote a poem about both a dog and my mother.

Being a foster parent I can relate well to this, Ed. There are many Moms out there who don't deserve the title at all. Well told, my friend.

I am very sorry to hear that, Ed. I think it is good to share your feelings though. My mom chose to leave this world early and of her own accord and that's not good either although I do not blame her. Love, peace, and healing to you,

Regis

Standing On My Knees by Pinkstone
