TOO MUCH INFO...???? LOL

Poem Artwork

I remember sitting in my favorite red chair,

Right in front of the TV when I was young,

Curled up so no one could see,

Of course, yes, I was playing with myself, yes me…

Star Trek, the Outer Limits & the Twilight Zone,

Mom used to sneak in and scare me,

I jumped & cried, I won’t say what was shown,

Stop being a baby she would always say,

Under my breath or in my head I’d curse her,

As she, laughing, walked away…

But then I was quite young,

Went to bed & had nightmares,

Parents said no more scary shows,

All I could think of was that really blows…

But the next week would come,

And still I would watch them,

Mom never remembered, always too loaded she was,

Never knew then that about that I should be glum…

Howdy Doody was a children's PORN STAR??? Man I never knew. Explains a lot though. A whole nation of Doody Whackers. I'll bet Anthony Weiner watched the reruns. Patrick

It is good that you are able to use humor all the while dealing with serious and painful "stuff." Love and peace to you, Ed.

I like how you seemingly use humour to try and soothe the memory of what should not have been....

I see sadness here but I hear a lot of humor too. Those shows used to scare me, but I'd be back with batted breath the next week. I also lived with alcoholism in my family and it was just a given, so what? There was worse. Love it. Great memories, yeah a few bad ones. Liz

We all have bad memories but we need to thrive on any happy ones we have Ed.
