Not to toot my own horn,
But way back in 19 & 54,
To my parents I was born,
Little did they know the hell they had in store…

Loved them in my own way I suppose I did,
Friends I had & still have to some degree,
I remember being a crazy kid,
So many times I did run away,
They didn't have to look far as I was always on my boat out to sea...

Yes, my parents did have it rough,
But I doubt no more so than most,
They had to be pretty damn tough,
So many times, I bet that my dad wanted to of my butt roast…

But perfection did eventually come,
Though sometimes I have to wonder,
How I got it at all as I considered myself pretty dumb,
But eventually I did learn to take responsibility & knuckle under…
