In 2009 I lived through ultra-HIGH sugar,
In the hospital for 12 days, 8 in a coma,
In the same year, I survived emergency surgery,
Gangrenes was my gall bladder,
I had thought I would have gone mad as a hatter…
But still I survived,
Both times, I, per the medico’s died,
In years after that I did again come close to dying,
First some sort of blood infection,
Then my heart needed valve correction…
But still I live,
God did not to me a reason give,
I know I am not immortal,
So what is keeping me from passing through the heavenly portal…?
My medical problems are a great deal,
Diabetes, atrial fib, and now kidney disease,
Why am I kept here on this of existence, plane,
I’ve been told that He wants me here, that is plain…
Sounds to me, Ed, as though you've found the reason--God. Once you place all your trust in Him, fear of dying fades. That was true for me, anyway. I like your expression "heavenly portal." I'm glad you're still kicking, buddy. We're going to make it a point to come see you before you do fritter away.
Brother Ed, this writing is your testimony of God's unfailing love towards his children and his creation! All that has been said about you, give others hope, joy and a deeper understanding and appreciation of life. These are a few reasons why God keeps you hear! I love and appreciate you, brother, keep writing.
I'm not one to try to understand what "God" wants or doesn't want, Ed. I will agree with your assessment that you have led a charmed life each time you have had to go under the knife. You have survived many close calls, so somebody/something somewhere is doing right by you. It is probably your constitution, and/or the brilliance of the doctors you have had to rely on. Hang in. Write stuff.
This book chronicles an infinite allegoric odyssey of Absolute Awakening in which a learned man, a mute man, and a recluse woman are the principal players. The mute and the recluse are the learned one's Teachers and Guides on his journey of Enlighten

sometimes it is so hard to see what our purpose in life is or why some of us live long while others do not.
I don't know that we really need to know, some lives seem more charmed than others,
despite all the really trying times you have experienced you do retain a sense of humor
and your writing often brings a smile to those who read it, maybe that is your reason for living for this moment, keep writing
