Keep Christmas in your own way & allow me to keep it in mine...

No Christmas tree in my place,
Nor lights in the windows,
Nothing Christmassy staring me in the face,
Thankfully I can celebrate, or not, in my own way…
No ornaments do I collect,
Nor memories of past that I recollect,
No stories do I wish to be told,
Christmas is just for the young,
Not for anyone quite old…
I think women hang on to the tradition longer than men. Since I've been single most of my life and my hands have been paralyzed, making decorations is the last thing on my mind. First my family cut back on gift giving, and now we don't do it at all. Makes for a much more relaxing time to just get together with friends, eat and enjoy the hard work that some people still put into get festive surroundings this time of year.
And I, for one would like to know just what kind of bug is a Hum Bug>
Does it make a humming like a bee?
There is something for you not to ponder around the space where your non-Christmas tree should be.
