Really thought it to be more self psychology, but the category is as close as I could get...thanks for stopping by!

Poem Artwork

With dialysis, I find myself little on the net,

More so after a session, I am mostly to bed set,

Sometimes I sleep through the rest of the day,

Then through the night as well, enjoying dreams,

Of oceans, lakes, and the inevitable stream…

I’ve asked God to take me home,

Even if he does not want me, let me move on to roam,

I cannot do myself in; I haven’t got the guts,

I am trying to allow myself to weather through what I got,

Though there are many, many hard to deal with buts…

Sorry to whine, better though than substituting the alcoholic brand,

My kidneys are at end stage; don’t want it to be also my liver,

My finances are quite low, so no longer can I just go anywhere,

And to be honest, I seem to tire more easily, making distance hard,

Sorry about this being less than my usual status as a card,

But at the very least I can once in a while keep the status of a bard!

It can be good therapy to write and/or talk about it. I won't pretend to know what you're going through, or what it's like, but I'll keep you in my thought, and wish you the best. Just keep posting and updating us as often as you can. Michael D.

Your kidneys may be weak, Ed, but your courage may be strong. Richard is right when he says at least you can write openly about it. We are with you, supporting you through this time with good wishes and good will.

A somber update Ed. It's good you can write about it, and that you have the courage to share it. It's good that you dream good dreams too. One of our sons (Sean) had kidney replacement 10 or so years ago. He takes a whole handful of pills a day to survive. His new kidney is failing now, and the chances for getting a new one are slim. Consequently, the prognosis for him is dark. He's 35. One day at a time. Take care. rlc
