Master of Guitar for his Time…

Jimi hendrix, master of guitar,

a prominent rising star,

of considerable abilities,

self taught,

both on stage and off,

no one did scoff.

knew of him prior,

listened on an old stereophonic record player,

Dad & mom thought he was the worst,

I fell in love with his sound,

For me he was a slayer.

Saw him in person, Woodstock 69’,

played last after the who,

he rocked that farm that yasgur owned,

he made me become a fan that day for sure,

no more beatles did I listen,

not even the monkees, did I hear again,

Hendrix was the one for me,

and to this day I have stuck,

with his music even after his death on sept 18^th, 1970.

try to imagine what it was he was saying then?

Think how he would be now?

To try some of the, for that era, futuristic equipment, he did,

nowadays he would be so far ahead of the rest,

as he was in the late 60’s just prior to his death.

Buried in Washington state, not far from his childhood home,

I want to visit his site someday & tell him how he changed,

one 15 year olds life, for the better, in 1969…

I wish jimi peace wherever he may be, hopefully playing guitar,

rather than harp in heavens rock band, he is to me still a star…
