I was very impressed with this poem--well done, and the thoughts, even similar phrases... very much like my "Ode to the Rose" (which won a prize). I shall be reading your poetry regularly.
The rose.. I've often said this and the lily are floral gifts which need no preamble.. no explanation. I have been watching a beautiful pink and white rose in my rose arbor for the last few days and today it opened to full bloom. Such a gift it was!

I like rose because it has a nice fragrance, and it knows how to protect itself with its thorns. It symbolizes "Strength" as well as "Beauty".
