Like contestants of old; the wind and grass play games
Wrestling without winning, a give and take with no rules.
Strong gusts seize grass blades. fiercely tying into bundles
Firmly rooted stalks hang on, struggling for earned release
Unyielding wind blusters, uprooting young sprout and seed
In a frenzy beyond motion, sweeping over plant and soil,
Outward upward floating undulating in restless ether
Awaiting new planting in readied unnamed fields of calm.
You touch the very deepest of my passions with this pen William. You give the grass a voIce that I can hear. This is a wonderful tribute to the simple things we take for granted and you breathed life into nature so others can feel the life that actually is a part of us. I already know about this life. I appreciate the simple things.

You know I have this image now of the wind saying 'take this' and the grass saying 'no, you take that'..lol This is such an ingenious and unique way of looking at one of nature's gmes... Love it!
