She had been shopping
my work would wait
I help put away the groceries
doing the heaver items
storing bulk up higher
seeing her dash away
with things for bath rooms
Entering a kitchen doorway
at the same moment
warm bodies touch
on a Saturday afternoon
children living away
we celebrate chores done
opportunity is ours
Arms encircle tummies touch
eyes lock lips tingle
in dreamy long kissing
affirming
why we are long together
smooching like that
and not spoiling the evening

"tummies touch" -- this is just wonderful. I close my eyes and I can feel the little thrill. You have a well-written gem here.
The delights of a kitchen chores mixed with the delights of caring for each other not comprehending why one should be so happy.
A down to earth poem, as always.
