Poem Artwork

Color The Morning

They begin as promising points of light
peeking through thin dull morning clouds
Giving birth to endless motion breaking
the shields masking a new day’s miracles.

A bright slither begins to burn away
sky fragments slashing the horizon
like a hand shuttle through its warp
weaving original multihued tapestry.

Widening cracks confirm brighter tints
pastels appear mystical and erratic with
bold brush strokes the envy of Picasso
canvas patterns unimagined by mortals.

A day's first masterpiece fades slowly
for newer creations in morning portals.
