It is that time of year... again.......

A Voice Once Promised


Morning is greeted in absolute stillness
A peaceful hush is heard after the storm
In a quiet time somber heavy foreboding

Appreciation for it is endless in my world
Where chimes of wind and song are mute
In our front porch chapel she had so loved

In memory I unfurl a twisted wet US flag
Move the swing to bring soft bell tones
Breathe in mountain air and a love for it

Turning to go for another coffee bracing
Out of no wind at all I hear gentle chimes
Bidding me to linger for a loving moment

Six pipes and clapper move miraculously
And sweetly sing love notes to her man
A departed who promised him she would
