Concerning a recent letter I received from a Grandchild named Matilda.

Saturday morning.
Cut grass..trim bushes..clean windows..sweep.. Stop.
Coffee..peanut butter toasties..and admire work completed.

"BANG!" Goes the letterbox.
Dawdle to collect mail.
Begrudgingly open in case its just another bill.

But not a bill. Instead, A beautifully hand written correspondence from, Matilda.
One of many grandchildren.

Complimentary is the plan
She tells me she's my biggest fan.

Explaining how she'd read the lot
Then asked how many more I've got.

So there I sat with smashing letter
Before so tired, but now much better.

I'd only read one page but then
Perfect writing although just ten.

The compliments revealed to me
My writings rediscovered see?

If you can see this little rhyme
I'll keep your letter for the rest of time.



Thanks Matilda.. Means a lot to me.

And so I put away this moment.
I was in awe
I was infused
I was a monogrammed Grandpa
I was moon beam
I still am.
