I'd never meant to let life go -
I just had things to do.
Think, plan, they mean not
when all of life one has forgot.
In the deep breeze spirits try
to woo me in a lullaby:
they murmur, talk, waves on rock,
though all they are is in the sky.
They're distant thoughts
by break of day,
Yet they'll bring justice
in small way.
These thoughts carry eternity,
thoughts that marry them with me,
So in the morrow, let me be
far from sorrow, close to free.
This makes me think of the hustle/bustle in life, the city streets that we race down to get to work making a 'life' for ourselves when life was already here in the still of the morning, something to be savored. Great reflections, clean poem. Janet xoxoxo
