A true warrior is a noble breed, Peter, and I am very humbled by their commitment to our defense. Theirs is not a battle of politics, it is a battle of wrong v/s right, good v/s evil and freedom v/s slavery. There are not enough of the right words to explain how grateful I am to them and how much I understand and appreciate their sacrifices. Thank you for this wonderful tribute to those who so unselfishly serve for liberty for all.

Well said, indeed. It is so sad the squeeky wheels get so much attention. Too many want to live in a free country, but seldom want to support that freedom. A very nice tribute to our "defenders".

Pro or not. A soldier still has feelings. More so for the men he kills. Underneath the flag of democracy.
The soldier has no options. Only to do his duty.
Duck is spot on. No one wants a war.
If England had not declared war on germany. The consequences are to horrific to contemplate.
When well we ever learn to enjoy our 3 score and 10...

"We'll always answer The Call To Defend" - and which of us will not do the same for those who are our nearest and dearest; it is our innate instinct to do so, so God Bless those who do it for a living and in the name of safety, justice and freedoms for all. I think also of others in our health and social/public services here... how we take them for granted. Picture is extremely moving and provoking. Without provocation, there would be no need for defence, I guess... TY for this, Peter. Kate xx

Thanks for this honest pen on those who decide for themselves to lay their lives on the line for us. Including the whinners who have no clue to the realities of the world. How soon so many forget 9/11 and the fact that since we've been over on their turf no major tragedies have happened. If we pulled our troops and something happened again in this country, the first to say we should have stayed would be those demanding we leave. I honor each and everyone of these brave men.

Peter,
The soldier is the one that always takes the heat in battle, whether they are on the battlefield or at home. They are always in the line of fire.
