" I want to live, I want to give I've been a miner for a heart of gold.
It's these expressions I never give That keep me searching for a heart of gold And I'm getting old.
Keeps me searching for a heart of gold And I'm getting old. " Neil Young

I awakened fresh and revitilised, after a night's slumbers knocking on heaven's door

to the East of Earth, I viewed Leonid's shower of meteorites,

as they rained across the celestial skies, like astral geese in flight

I thumbed open my journal again, and mused on the mystery of love

that heady concoction we all seek, and seldom find

you can look upon Venus and Mars in elliptical orbits

getting ever closer, but still colossal miles apart

you think you have found the perfect partner

to discover in the end, that pearl has lost its lustre

gravity holds me to the ground, and infatuation spawns a myriad effect

you will know the difference, when your head comes down from the clouds

in the midst of marriage or a loving relationship, you can still feel the pangs of loneliness

there is no way the cup is ever full, you're fooling yourself if you think otherwise

because this is only a fleeting existence, twixt the temporal and illusory realms

I plot a course for Pluto on reverse polarity engines

skipping over the electromagnetic fields, I view your disconcert now

a father's love is invaluable, as any daughter will tell you

and a mother's love is inestimable, your son knows that now

everything else is artificial, built on irregular lines

you try to work out all the pieces, but the jigsaw refuses to fit

no one is prepared to sacrifice it all

they all have limitations, demarcation zones they build

you break through all the walls, to find there's another one yet

I pour another cup of coffee, and breath in the essence

one million miles from mother earth, tis a landmark on the course

so listen closely my friend, and partake if you wish

you can have all my dollars, they don't mean a thing to me

for I have the antidote, for all your aches and pains

I'll show you how to thrive , and defy the gravitational pull

drop by my den tomorrow, and I will show you, the real you

Peter,

The first installment was beautifully penned inspiration; the second, even more so--absolutely, I'll be waiting for the third! These are your best poems to date (and you pen a lot of bests). BRAVO!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Moon dust files are opened, lights go on again in Peter's space laboratory, keyboard makes clattering astral music.

Paul Fisher invented the remarkable pen taken to the moon. He saw a need for a ball-point pen that could write on the ceiling, upside down, over grease, and underwater. It had never been done! He spent a million dollars and months of time trying to make a breakthrough. At three o'clock in the morning, he awoke with the secret that made the invention possible. The Fisher pen was taken to the moon. It met NASA'S requirements for a leakproof, longer-life-span, gravity-free-flowing instrument for writing in outer space! Love the line "like astral geese in flight." It goes well on the same page with my Goose of a Different Color.

Very sadly often the case with the creature known as Man.

Journey on, Sage Astronaut!

Wow Peter! A lesson in life and love to be taught by one who really cares.
Oh our children and those we care about stand so strong on the outside of all our knowledge and never know how bad it hurts us for them to feel the pains of life.
Lots to ponder here in this write..hope all is well.

Lisa
