Like a bird on the wire,
Like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free.  ...
Leornard Cohen

......................................................................................

As I mull on the complexities of being and not being

a gamma ray burst signals another super nova arriving unexpectedly

perhaps with long term implications for our solar system

do you realise there are countless other inhabited planets out there

or have you been duped into thinking you are all alone

you are in one dimension, I am in another

look around you now fellow traveller, and you will see it is true

life is but a dream, but a very clever and disingenuous one

we are all but spirit players in the deck of cards

being shuffled and moved around at will

symbolical and allegorical tales still to be told

you can't remove one without disturbing the rest

significant ripples that pour into a still pond

affecting the glacier like surface of the subconcious

who told you, you can't love more than one person

it is a fallacy to think you can only affect the singular

spread yourself thickly wherever you go

you short change yourself and the world by being insular and mean

inter stellar pulses emitted from deep space

intermittent intimations transmitted just to you

you have to alter your perceptive frequency if you want to receive

what you give into your environment is what you get back

and look out, because we are on the eve of destruction

we have crossed the irrevocable line in the sand long time ago

I re-adjust my personal bearings, and head back to Mars

the red planet is my place of home and reflection

and if you are of a like minded disposition

come and join me on Olympus Mons

and we shall breakfast and be merry

introducing the new rules of the ever changing game

you and I can make a new and exciting reality

if you believe in me, like I do you

Love the perspective here, Peter, which certainly brings your thoughts into sharp relief and clarity. Aye, we are so "ant-like" with our inability to see anything outside of our often tunnel-vision.... Hmmmm... like us watching the parade and antics of ants, just wonder WHO might be watching us??? Neat write, thank you. Kate xx

Name the date and the time, Sage Astronaut, and I will try to make it, but my spaceship is probably not half as grand as yours.

That pic is absolutely GORGEOUS, and so is this write. A stunning conclusion, a great way to begin my day. Thank you! Saving this, as I have the last two. Stellar poetry, my friend--BRAVO!

Awesome pic and the poem reminds me of the old adage, No man is an island unto himself. In your world, though limited in scope, you can effect change in someone today, either by prayer, a smile, a hello, a pat on the back or some monetary gift to the needy. You can effect many people in your circular world.
Reach out the rewards are great. Splendid message Peter to start my day.
