The Charge Of The North Star
By: Captain Fee
Oh ‘tis too dark to see the topmast sway
I hear its wood creak out an angry moan
Can you hear the rigging’s chorus?
Aye, ye know you’re ne’er much alone
Can you feel the decking quiver?
Like some lover’s final throes
Taste the salt spray on your whiskers
As upon our frightened prey we goes
‘Neath the mother Union Jack flag
Ahead ‘tis a Privateer’s sure delight
We’ll run full canvass afore the wind
As once again the “North Star” rules the night
Our four pounders fire broadside
As the Yankee schooner pulls in sight
White flag before our boarding party
Flash our silver sabers in the night
Yo, ho, ho and a bottle of rum
‘Twas indeed a fine wind shift
Now with American treasure in our hold
We smile and set the Yanks adrift!
with amazing metaphors here Sweetie!
Ah, you write em' well!
Another book that will bring many swells to our imaginations,
with the sea in your blood
They are sure to be felt and read!
Warm hugs and love, Warrior Lady Sheeeooxoo
