Just another cowboy song...

Poem Artwork

My Song

My old six string flat top lost the music

My steel strings just can’t find the tune

My best lyrics went somewhere undercover

My chords all seem to have gone to ruin

My old scuffed boots can’t find the rhythm

My old black Stetson seems to miss the beat

My faded Levis jeans don’t know the lines

My chorus doesn’t seem to have any heat

My whiskey tumbler just whispers your name

My heart only wants to harmonize in misery

My teardrops water down this double malt

My song’s just another broken hearted tragedy

This picture is my muse, when I first saw it, I thought, YES! and the man in my bed. then I read your poem...
Your heart is so True! The Cowboy in you, this song needs to be sung loud and strong!
It may be sad, but all country songs are! Or seem to be!
My chorus doesn’t seem to have any heat, love this line... and the rest that followed, but some stick...Moreso than the rest... AS you know...
WRITE ON!
