This is not a personal poem or perhaps it is,I have seen more than my share of deathbed good byes to parents, siblings and others and I guess through the years it has made me realize we are all just loving...on borrowed time.

Poem Artwork

Borrowed Time!

Stolen kisses in the shadows

Tick tock are you still mine

Hands held in semi darkness

Love on borrowed time

My heart for you keeps beating

no real reason or no rhyme

You’re such a big part of it

Love on borrowed time

Shared dreams under sunsets

Orange candlelight and wine

Dank twisted morning sheets

Love on borrowed time

Memories and magic moments

A wrinkle is just a laugh line

My hair somehow turned grayer

Love on borrowed time

Teardrops fall like monsoon rains

Pen scratch on a clipboard line

Say goodbye on angel wings

To love on borrowed time!

This is heartfelt wonder! The sad thing is we don't appreciate that all any of us have is 'borrowed time....and the sweetness of what we have lived doesn't hit us until we lose someone we love dearly...This is such a special and inspired poem. Love and Hugs, Diana

Fee,
This is one of your best poems, it touched my heart. We are all living on 'borrowed' time, my friend. Enjoyed this immensely!

right down to the picture, this was a walk down memory lane when I lost my beloved aunt fourteen months ago. And for that I thank you. Was wonderful she was not alone when she crossed... Beautiful work.

Fee, Your writing lately has become so romantically blooming. I can feel a longing and deep introspective in this poem. Yes, lots of people love and live on borrowed time. I like to think that there is a life after our borrowed time is over...xo

70...80...90...living on borrowed time, I will ask Him to be fair and let us know that "when" because at our ages fears of going is not there.
But knowing that we are drinking the last glass of wine will stops us to gulp it down but savor it like it were Olympus god's elixir.

Yes, we are on borrowed time, but most of us do not go through life as thought the next moment will bring us death. Somehow, I think that is a good thing.
