For my American cousin Ed who also found a new Pontiac ride...hope you like...fee

Poem Artwork

Old but Sweet

She’s my fine old ‘99

Pontiac Grand Am

I pretend she’s a Masseratti

But I am what I am

She’s a sweet Santa Claus red

Just like his old deer sled

She’s fast as lighting

The horsepower’s truly inbred

She got four almost good tires

Two of them even have thread

Her bucket seats can recline

In case I ever need a bed

She’s got holes in fenders

Patched them up with duct tape

Painted over rust with spray bomb

Decals cover the odd scrape

She has power door locks

And three of them even work

The seatbelts often rewind on you

With a sharp and sudden jerk

There’s a crack in her windshield

Her manifold missing a few bolts

But when I step on the gas pedal

She takes off like twin colts

Power steering belt bitches

When I make too sharp a turn

And she won’t see valet parking

My parking pass they decided to burn

Yea she’s a bit of a sleeper

Not sure in NASCAR where she’d rate

Gotta say I’m growing to love her as much

As Jimmy Johnson’s good old #48

She cost me 800 big ones

Before I added in brakes but I’m just glad,

She gets me from point A to point B

No matter what it takes…

A fun-to-read poem, Fee. I love my little, red truck, but it sucks in the winter (rear-wheel). I call it my coffin on wheels when snow hits the ground. I enjoyed this write:)

Oh, Fee! Mine's not as sporty as your Grand Am, but as red and 1 year older: 1998 Buick Skylark Sedan (easier to put groceries in and take out :o); good gas mileage, too! Otherwise, your descriptions fit my Rosie to a T! Hey, if they keep runnin', we gotta love 'em...

Very nice, Fee. Nothing like a bright red Pontiac.
Got a bright red Grand Prix myself.
Nothing like a good old American Car.
AWWWWWWW. Can't help myself. Just gotta say it.
