How Could You Let Us Fade Away? By: Fee Does she believe that I could forgot her That my heart healed and I moved on Think that I could somehow love another When she said goodbye and then was gone She probably thinks that I stopped crying Told herself my broken heart would heal I wonder if she thinks of me sometimes Or did her heart suddenly forget to feel My Birthday and holidays feeling empty Not even a whisper to my hungry ears At night wondering if she thought of me As days and months soon slip into years Did she not know how much it hurt me When she no longer even, said my name Was our love to her just a sweet illusion No longer wanted, hid away in shame…

Love can really hurt and even kill. Your poem touched my heart as I have felt the same way in my younger days. Keep strong and know that your poetry is loved.

Some of us have deep love in our hearts that last a lifetime, others come and go and let go far to easily, giving up on something or someone who has given their all us. What a pit that is Felix

All I can think of while reading through this poem was my dear husband. He told me he loves me seconds before he took his final breaths. Even though he's gone now for 7 years, I still miss him and remember him as if it was yesterday.

Great longings for the one you love! We all go through this emotion one way or another in our lifetime.

Sweetly lyrical and probably could be put to music. The kind of tearjerker that climbs the charts for all of those who have lost loves for whatever reason.

I sensed a bit of what my ex-wife might be thinking about me now that that old man she married for his money is gone. She loved so much our being lovers. I don't think of her very much until I read a poem like this.

This is something jilted lovers often wonder, even obsess over. Something in us needs to know they are as miserable as they have made us. Then we see them one day, laughing with their head bent over the face of a younger, very attractive woman, and something in us snaps. No longer miserable, now we are angry and it's a good kind of angry. The kind that gets things done. The kind that allows us to thumb our noses to the source of our hurt, and move on. Hopefully to the kind of love we were denied before.
