I was born in Vermont, moved to Florida in 1968. Every few years I go back to my home state to see family and the beautiful green mountains.I WROTE THIS POEM MANY YEARS AGO.
I miss the valleys of green 'and lofty mountain ranges.
I miss the beautiful fall leaves, with brillant color changhes.
I miss the sparkling waters of cool mountain streams running down the hillside, to lakes, quiet and serene.
I miss the country roads near fields of wheat and hay!
I'm headung home as fast as I can to see it all today.
For home is where my heart is, it's where I long to stay,, I'll live in the beautiful green mountains each and every day!

Indeed a lovely place. But I have not been there. Only gather what it must be like from growing up in Wisconsin and spending seven years in West Virginia. Like you I hurry home in my thoughts almost every day this time of year when I used to go just randomly driving from hill to valley in West Virginia just to see what I could see.
