I CAN UNDERSTAND EVERYONE'S CAUTION THESE DAYS, ESPECIALLY SINCE 9/11, HOWEVER I THINK SOME COMPANIES HAVE RUN THE COST OF SOME BOTTLED H2o INTO-THE-GROUND. SO, I DON'T BUY WATER. I HAVE A MEDIUM SIZE, BRITA WATER-FILTER-PITCHER WHICH DOES JUST FINE. CHANGE THE FILTER EVERY 3 MONTHS AND IT FILTERS OUT THE BACTERIA, WHICH CERTAINLY BEATS BUYING WATER. I love my Brita filter. It does what it has to, without fuss or waste.

The big lie is that tapwater isn't good enough or that it's contaminated. When people think that news is fake, they fail to realize how much they are influenced by what their friends are doing or how they are tricked by advertising into doing stupid things.

You are right about the plastic pollution that is so serious and the added cost of buying so many things that the only value added is just marketing, profit and nothing else. Why are we so easy enticed by these silly ruses and fake information?

I didn't drink water (except when doing heavy work in the heat) for about 30 years. I only drank hot coffee, tea or lemonade with water from the tap and some sodas from a bottle (mostly glass). The two cents or whatever for returning soda bottles worked very well for recycling. Why was it stopped? Inconvenience? Cost?

When I had two kidney stones at 65 requiring a surgery followed by lithotripsy for removal, my partner insisted that I drink bottled water. As I age, my need to drink water has increased immensely. But I often recall talking to an extremely obese woman who didn't make it to 65 tell me that I was hurting my health by not drinking water. I could tell that part of her bloated being was water that she retained causing great damage to her cell structure. I am still healthy and have no obesity, high blood pressure, or other ailments like she had.

Clean water at the tap is not free. My water bill has quadrupled in the last few years. Partly because of the need to upgrade the infrastructure that provides water and sewer for the greater Houston area from surface water gathered at Lake Houston. The fact that there was no cross-contamination during the recent historic flooding, shows that tapster here remains good to drink.

I am a tap water drinker. Period.

When they came out with bottled water, I thought, who is going to pay for water, but people do, and that amazes me. Why pay for something you can get for free? And an excellent point on the pollution aspect. Not only what goes into landfills, but also the waste of fuel to transport all those bottles to the store to sell.

While growing up in a village on the edge of Lake Erie, I was swimming and swallowing that water!! I still go in but no more head stands and tricks for me!! Plain ol' swimming is so calming. About bottled or tap.....whatever is available would be fine. 'Enjoyed!!
