WELL...WHEN I TRY TO REMEMBER THE EFFECTS OF THOSE MOVIES...I DON'T KNOW, THEY WEREN'T THAT SCARRY TO ME. WHY? FIRST OF ALL I DIDN'T GO TO MOVIES VERY MUCH AND WHEN I DID GET TO SEE A THRILLER...I GUESS BECAUSE I ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WASN'T REAL? BUT, WHEN I THINK ABOUT IT...NOT ONLY YOU LAUGH AT THOSE MOVIES FROM YESTERDAY BUT THE KIDS TODAY LAUGH TOO. THEY'RE INTO THE 'REAL STUFF' TODAY...AND I DO THINK THIS IS SADLY WHAT INFLUENCES A LOT OF NEGATIVE BEHAVIOR. FOR ME...IF YOU'RE GOING TO TELL A STORY THAT IS A BLOOD-CURDDLING THRILLER OR MYSTERY, THEN DO IT WITH A GOOD PURPOSE... SHEDDING LIGHT ON THE 'ONE' THAT CAN CONTROL IT AND CAN OVERCOME AND ERADICATE THE EVIL. FILL THE VIEWER WITH FAITH, TEAR DOWN THE FEAR...WITH THE LIGHT OF GOD, WHO 'ALWAYS' WINS. AND HE DOES YOU KNOW, EVEN IF IT MAY NOT SEEM LIKE IT(...FOR ALL THINGS...). THANKS, JOHN. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

I never went through that phase. Always thought those movies were rather foolish and they didn't scare me. But I was upset one time when some college students were watching a movie made from Edgar Allen Poe's Telltale Heart and started laughing about what was really a serious heart attack.

The only movie I recall jumping out of my seat in was Wait until Dark. Where Audrey Hepburn was blind and two killer thieves got in her darkened house. But there were no monsters only great acting by the likes of Alan Arkin playing the diabolical killer.

When the Thriller album and video was popular, my girlfriend and her family dance troupe did a real mean Thriller review with her son playing a very convincing Michael Jackson until Michael went too far with plastic surgery and left Cedric behind.
