It is good when someone takes charge, even if that someone is only 35 inches tall and not yet out of kindergarten...

Poem Artwork

Winter has come little brother
and we are going to have a ball,
up and down on those sharp hills
and making angels on the snow.

Don’t you worry little brother,
just stay there and keep warm,
as soon as our train arrive
I will put all our gear onboard.

Keep trying to reach our mommy
in that one ninety-nine little phone
am sure you if can reach her
she will hit the ceiling at our home.

We got all we need, helmets, skis,
backpack with goodies and snowboard,
an I-pod with most terrific music
and few Credit Cards to keep us ON.

Please mister, can you take picture
of me standing here watching my bro?
I don’t want to give a heart attack
to my dad, a photo will suffice, I thought.

Now…when is that lousy train coming?
suspicion looks are coming from that cop,
as soon that dumb Amtrack stops here
the sooner me and my brother are gone!!!

Georg - interesting poem. It makes the reader question the context and answer the question him or herself. I think they're on a great adventure. - David

Naughty little boys! What a great characterization. I hope this refers to a little pleasure ski trip and not running away.

Powerful, painfully penned poem; kids shouldn't have to feel worthless enough to where they have to run away! Very well penned, George; bravo!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in America, Karen Lynn in Texas. :(

Sad, when kids feel they have to run away ... painfully, sadly penned, Georg, well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
