Eastern is pronouced Ostern in german langausge, and, taken a little of a literary licence I borrowed from a German Author the tittle of his most heart gripping book "All quiet on the Western Front" as I remember this Easter all the soldiers at harms reach in Iraq.
Dedicated to the US troops in Iraq as I wish them a Peaceful Easter with the hand of God over each one of them.
Soldier’s Easter in Iraq
lets not forget them today,
not the ones going in and,
not the ones that there felt,
giving what they had
for false promises made;

in “Ostern” nich neues,
peace is on its way.

Those brave American soldiers sure will appreciate your most poignant deep sentiments Georg! Too bad that those that send them into this quackmire didn't read Erich Maria Remarques book, " nothing new on the western front" but it takes an intelligent, open, and caring mind like yours to even understand it, something most of them seemed to have much lack of, it's always easier to send the grunt to the front, while those that send them, as always, are comfortable in their rocking chairs, no matter what country. The jingoism and all the accommodating trappings, pride, heroism, nationalism etc, are used by all of them, and the comfortable sheep are always cheering, only the mothers, for centuries, have buried the left overs. I don't say, don't fight if it is really necessary, but this fight was a and is a sham, no one should have lost their lives over it. Blessings my friend! Jasmin Horst
