2009, a courageous high decorated soldier, suffering from severe Agent Orange exposures to more serious ailments that render him helpless, are being pushed aside by the same people that bestowed him with Bronze Stars Medals, that said, as we haven't heard that before, that any of his ailments are not WAR RELATED ONES, so, on top of everything, they also deny him of Disability Pay and a place for treatment.
Next time you see a Veteran thank him with sincerity, because no one else does.
I said farewell to my buddy and friend
when they took him and send away to home,
he got a Purple Heart for getting crippled
medals given like candy by the men on top.
Ribbon and Ribbons hanging on the chest,
doesn’t matter awarded from what little war,
“the cannons most be filled with fodder”
or so they said the men that are on top.
Cry my little and younger soldiers, cry,
because they are dreaming of another war,
where?, that doesn’t matter, when?
when you hear of Evil Doers, one time more.
those medals must be a knife piercing within the back of ones heart everytime they look at it...until one day you see someone in a pawn shop trying to get a good price for their last resort...my heart just cries...feeling the wounds & that emptiness....
Dear Georg what deep wound you just opened. Alas, human beings will never learn. Each war has its own excuse, to kill human beings. Those who never went to war do not understand its meaning and its pains. Meanwhile they calm the parents, wifes and children with medals and grades.
Those who did not take part of any war owe a lot of respect and gratitude to those who made the sacrifice. Love Emile
I have the highest appreciation of anyone who fights to defend their own country; but I wish the US Government would treat the soldiers with more respect and give them more moral support and love when they fall down.

My God Georg, when will they begin to think before sending more off to fight a war? When will the fighting stop? When will our government start honoring and taking care of those who gave so much and suffered so. I see it every day and it just breaks my heart...
Very well stated and to not feel anger at the beuracacy that can be so cold to the ones who gave so much...we who they have served for should hang our heads in shame and not only give respect but give the boot to any politicians who cannot push for fair and humane treatment for veterans

hi Goerg i hear you. it brings sadness and anger to me my son John was in the gulf war, was exposed to chemicals (26 times) he was wounded chemically he wakes up everyday with a shifting pain the chemicals inside him have made him weaker than I no purple heart but he should have one as many others should

Is it only us, Georg, who gives a damn? The government sure doesn't - they ask (demand) our boys and girls to go to war, and forget them when (IF) they come home - "Thank you for your service, now go away!" is what they seem to be saying - crying shame. What the hell are medals going to do when the Veteran needs medical care, a home or food?!? Thank YOU, Georg, for speaking out for those who seem to have no voice - and thank YOU for your service. War and its aftermath are truly hell Georg and it's shameful that men are dying and being crippled physically and emotionally and then to add insult to injury they are being denied the benefits they deserve. When I see the old soldiers and esp. the young ones at the Vets. Hospital, those without limbs, those with hands that shake or faces blown apart, I cry.
