A collaborative effort by E.W. Richardson and myself
In a Burgundy Moon
I am moon, rising
within burgundy ripples
floating upon waves
of deep red anticipation
I am temptation
in crystal dress, heady scent
that teases, cajoles
lips to touch, caress
the rim of desire and quench
thirst in liquid fire…
moon bathing in burgundy
I watch the moon bathe
in my glass of deep, red wine
when I raise the glass
to better view her fullness
she turns from silver
to soft red as if blushing
at my bold regard
Smiling, I then sip
and the moon kisses my lips…
Later, in my dreams
she provides yet sweeter drink.
I know these two - and before this one, they were very good poets. AFTER writing this in collaboration... they're even better poets. Congrats, Myrna and Erny, on what I believe is a first, as co-authors. Scrumptious poetry... lines of beauty and reward. A very good one!
