This piece was inspired by a challenge on another site.. theme: What does poetry mean to you? What is poetry? These are but my thoughts... Also I do not usually add artwork but this graphic is perfect!

Poem Artwork

Poetry Is....

how do I define, describe,
make it come alive so that you
might see what it is to me.....

poetry is an unfinished dream, a
thought given wings, and that
moment almost forgotten... it is

a reflection of self, a breath never
taken, and a memory I cannot
forget... poetry is a glimpse into

the past, vision of tomorrow,
and truth of today... it bleeds
sorrow and radiates joy, marks

time and remains timeless, is rich
tapestry and blank canvas, and
it is the music that fills my heart

and what it means to me is
....everything.

I learned nothing from this poem. But, each and every word and line covinced me, again, that you're one of the online masters with cretive and comforting poetry. So soft, gentle, and sincere... yes, you've pleased and reassured me... all over again! - Bill

Quite well expressed and I think you captured quite well the very essence that is a poet. Well done, you have my vote.

...of pen and artwork...perhaps your poetry...is the black and white of everything...given color...so that we might see the pages of now and forever...a reminder that the heart...knows the strokes of time...musical chimes...to brush the page with life.

your beautiful poetry is everything Myrna...
