Another tankabun that I do hope you enjoy... I saw a butterfly Saturday which, due to my limited vision, is a rarity for me and it left me to ponder some things...
Unclaimed
She flies, spirit free
Untangled, unencumbered
Diaphanous wings
Eager to touch sky, unclaimed
By wind, and to chase her dreams
Sweet butterfly, how you humble me with your beauty of spirit, your tenacity! From meager beginnings and crumpled wings you emerge... a chrysalis born of delicate strength, an untried soul just waiting to fly, a dream escaping. Nature paints you in brilliant fragility, a color splash decorating mundane, making ordinary days special. You scatter your promises, leaving them to bud and grow, and your wings whisper of their contentment. And as I watch you disappear into that sky I wonder if you know how much I wish to be you.. a free spirit, unclaimed by wind, and chasing my dreams. I wonder, sweet butterfly... I wonder.

There is always somthing almost mystical in a butterfly, such striking beauty that seemingly fulfills no purpose here on earth yet to watch their perfect flight from one place to another makes one believe in nature's beauty.

This "Tankabun" is delightful to the ear, to the eye and the imagination. It is especially wonderful because it was written by you, dear friend, one who can treasure this sight more than most! I particularly love the "delicate strength" oxymoron and the onomatopoeic "wings whisper." This is a poem to brighten anyone's day! "A color splash decorating mundane." Thank you for this precious piece!

Reminds me again of Coldplay's song "We Never Change." One of the lines is: I want to fly and never come down." Oh to be so free. Beautiful write.
