Deeper
softer is the whisper that drifts upon changing winds
kinder are the tears that slip away into memories' well
gentler is the time that stills the soul in midnight's silence
tender are the thoughts that linger within moments' sorrow
and deeper is the breath I take to ease the pain of losing you

Can anything ever ease that pain? Only the passage of time eventually helps us cope with it, live with it every day but, we still have to try. This a tragically beautiful piece about the reality of suffering and heartbreaking loss from the heart of the one left behind.
