I went back to a form I once penned quite often, the sonnet, though this is a different variation than I was more apt to pen. This is a couplet sonnet and I do hope you enjoy.
Aurora's Song
O, that I could capture this dappled dawn...
Its waning moments and memories pawned,
Drifting and blending into daylight's hue
Of sun and cloud, shadings on canvas blue.
And here I am with naught but bristled pen,
Its ink of thought, song of morn, caught within
Time's parchment sheets, each longing to compose
Delicate lines of rhyme or portraits' prose...
For it is not with stroke of brush I paint
But with sweet words of muse both bold and quaint
That flow from heart and seep from soul to be
My aurora and the music I see.
Each sigh and whisper, every breath that's drawn...

And so the sonneteer struts her stuff again...lol...and what a strut it is!
