US military is planning to spend $300 billion the next 10 years to upgrade our mutual annihilation system from the 30-year-old Minuteman III to a replacement Sentinel ICBM with upgraded warheads.

My ICBM

I love my ICBM.

I love my ICBM.

Blow us all up,

from here to when.

As a kid, safety rockets I flew.

The real ones too dangerous,

for the likes of me and you.

But the military has rockets,

capable of reaching outer space.

With warheads on them,

put other countries in their place.

If we are going to fire them,

I want to ride along.

Ride one of them all the way,

while singing my favorite song.

With mutual destruction,

we'll all go away, anyway.

So why not take the ride,

to mark my final day.

But if I see them coming,

about to watch them hit.

and know it is the end,

all I will say is, "Oh shit!"

They should have named them,

ISBM (I see bowel movement),

for as they say in Wisconsin,

"Shit happens, No shit.”

Ronald, your poem says it just as I feel it.I would love to know what your 'favourite song' is? I'm guessing it is 'American Pie'? That would be good one to sing while riding on a rocket (bye bye.) Your poem really fits what so many people are feeling in this crazy messed up world right now,me included.I would not say 'oh shit' like you wrote in your exciting poem, if I was riding on that rocket to bomb THEIR target I would just yell out "SHIT' !!!!!!! Or being a true blue Aussie I might yell out 'bloody' before I say it. Let's hope that day never happens Ron, I could not help but smile when I pictured you sitting on that rocket singing. Your surprising poem made me think and smile all at the same time and that is no S..T !🤩

There is true insanity at work when it comes to military build ups of any kind. The sad and alarming thing is that there are those in the world who understand nothing else.

"Put other countries in their place" indeed, except for those that have them as well, priming the world for mutual destruction. I suppose making light of their reality is one way of dealing with their existence and their awesome power to destroy the earth.
