JOURNEY ON A GOLDEN STREET
Her long, tiring journey was over --
a story her loved ones would tell --
and she had gone to a better home,
the place where God's holiness dwells.
When she saw her Savior there waiting,
she fell down at His feet to adore,
to lift up her praise in His presence,
and weep till her tears were no more.
Her heart was too full to be silent,
but her thoughts were too sacred for words.
She searched for a song of boundless joy;
none was worthy, of all she had heard.
Then she heard an echo of voices --
All the angels were singing His song --
"Hallelu! Hallelujah!" filled the air,
and she found herself singing along.
He reached His hand toward her and smiled;
He said, "Come," lifting her to her feet.
The angels in chorus sang, "Hail to the King,"
as they walked in companionship sweet.
There was so much He wanted to show her
in His beautiful city of gold,
Wondrous mansions, and springs of pure water,
and bounteous treasures untold.
If you saw her there, you would marvel,
for her body is whole, young and strong,
and the sorrows she knew are forgotten
as they're talking, and walking along.
He is eager to show her His heaven
with its marvelous sights and sounds,
but she is content in His presence,
oblivious to all that surrounds.
She's enthralled just to be with Jesus,
home with Him, right where she belongs.
Her eyes are aglow with the light of His love,
her heart in accord with the angels' songs.
It's a journey surpassing all others,
overflowing her soul with pleasures replete,
and her journey is only beginning, as she walks
with the King on His shining gold street.
"He that believeth on Him is not condemned,
because He hath believed
on the Name of the Son of God."
