My parents spent fifty-three years together, had eleven of their own children then adoptive five more! Their lives together revolved around God and the children he gave them, and the two he took back home. Never once did I feel we were a burden to them. We were their gifts! I wrote this chronological order of events of their love affair and summarized what life taught them and me...
My mother, the saint, shines her bright light down on all of us, always and forever reminding me, that with tragedy there is peace in knowing... we are never alone!
Dad, don't cry...there's a big smile on her face! |

Love played in concert the "Claire de Lune" entr’acte Two skylarks in the Meadows slow danced to Frank Sinatra ...then they did the jitterbug!
The Love birds they kissed a whole night away Ringing in the rite bells, proposing, for that early Spring day
The bride wore a cranberry suit on Midland Avenue, replying, "OK, yes! , I’ll do it!, With a prerequisite of sixteen babies fulfill me, one big family unit! "
The groom was handsome and tall Appealingly, permitted to that! Rendered from war, dormant , he wholeheartedly agreed, "Alrighty then, I’ll don this new hat!"
The honeymoon, was like heaven A little lodge on Bear Mountain Sealing a lifetime of truly’s, and a sincere, solemn loyalty to children
They say, hard work pays off and being just to your brethren... and, " Did you know... you become even more Blessed, every time you get pregnant?"
They had a baby girl, then a girl , then a boy, boy... But , then most unexpectedly, a little bow untied, when their five year old daughter, got really sick and just died...
God is good, but, "why her Lord?" Little Kathy’s dad, lost... with nothing left in his store "Nothing will ever matter or make sense anymore!" But his wife saw differently...
She was carrying a baby, and holding her husband, as if , words were leavened, saying,"Be not afraid, for who else do we know... has their very own advocate in heaven?"
Time went on and it did heal most, always staying close, to the Father, His Son, and that special touch of love, from their Holy Ghost...
They had six more children then added five more too! Love bloomed in Jersey, ...a newborn petal fell God has his reasons...another see welled...
Then, love moved to Pennsylvania and ten years, loving later... The farm life in the Valley... O’ the memories, they’ll paint her! "Florida here we come!"
Sailing seas and fishing for fun with the children all grown, now... Two , too far, far from done! But, God called her home, his wife of fifty-three years, gone...
And, The still, handsome groom? Well, he tries to keep his chin high, wiping away the tears, now...and... but then, he’ll remember her cry,
"The advocate in heaven, lovey... We’re here!. Forever, for always, right here by your side..".

Beautiful tribute to what love is all about. Well done.
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
My folks were married 39 years. Mom died. Eight years later, Daddy remarried. They've been together, what, ll years now? I always tell him, "Most men can't find the love of one good woman, you're blessed, you've found it twice."
My parents also had 53 years of wedded bliss, before my Dad passed on. And there is not one day that my mother doesn't think of him, and of the day when they will be together again.
