I sat and watched
The two planes crashing
Into the buildings
I could not believe
Then I had to
Because it really
Had happened
And I felt so numb
I silently screamed
These five years I
Learned that we are
Vulnerable like others
I have felt very sad
And had my druthers
But seeing a child
Able to laugh and play
Makes me know that
Even after that awful day
We can still look for happiness
And not feel guilty
Those planes are
What makes me
Choose joy instead of pain
Lynn,
Your poem is so real. Just looking at the joy on your beautiful granddaughter Caseylynn's face says it all. You see how I have readily assumed the beautiful young girl in the picture is Caseylynn...smile
You see for me it doesn't matter. Everything gives me hope now. I remember so well that day in September as I remember my other 9/11 a couple of years afterwards with both my parents a month apart. Yes, I remember the pain.
I see the box of kleenex there in the picture sitting behind Caseylynn's beautiful smiling face. I also smile at your last line in your peom, "Choose joy instead of pain."
Today, this day, this 9/11 for me is JOY instead of pain. I went to the doctors office today and got such a good report. For me I laugh now and I am in love and there is a new hope for a better tomorrow.
Today is truly more than about me and my hope is that somehow others are able to, "Choose joy instead of pain."
This second revised edition describes, from Onlinesss Self Awakening perspective, the major Truth-consciousness realm-waves of transcendent Self Awakening
Are you still angry at God for having lost a loved one due to sickness or unexpected circumstances? This book will give you a better understanding of death, God’s role in it, and what decision is before each of us that would allow us to see them agai
