Are there definite signs...

Poem Artwork

How do you know
It is the end
Of a year
Do you really need
A calender
To tell you
Or can you figure
It out
All by yourself
And then keep
It to yourself
For fear
That if everyone knew
They would panic
And then
Probably want to party
And want to pretend
That their weight
Doesn't matter
And their lack of job
Is okay
That their dashed
To the ground hopes
Are opportunities
For a brand new day
How do you know it
Is the end of a year
Can you smell something
Dead in the air
Please pop the cork
On a bottle of
Alcohol-free bubbly
Because while driving
You might hit a deer
It's over it's over
How can you tell
Did your milk expire
On December thirty-first
Simply go to the store
And buy some more
'Cause the end
Of the year
Brings hunger and thirst
How do you know it is
The end of the year
Pretend you don't
Then act surprised
On January first

Very clever, Lynn. Another year has all but bitten the dust and I could swear it should only be July. Happy New Year to you and those you love.

LOL! I do need a calander, I never know what day it is! They all seem to run together, until one of the children remind me that it's their birthday, or that it's the day we pop open the bubbly and give them a toasting glass!Expired milk? A gallon lasts us a day! Haven't experienced that one yet...:)
Funny write!
Love and Peace~

The thought of that milk sitting around until the first, pretty well ruined my breakfast. Thanks Lynn. lol Let's see, I get my hair cut on my birthday and change my shorts every new year. Well, since I can still see you...excuse me a moment.har, har, har. Happy New Year Young Lady and all of you and yours.
