We watch Idol
Then when it ends
We feel empty
It is bad enough
We are hooked
On this stuff
We grieve
When we can't have any
So we crochet
An afghan while waiting
For the next
Season to begin
We chew our nails
When it is here
Because we don't
Know who will win
This seems to be an "Hi my name is Dan and I'm hooked on American Idol fan" and then you say "Hi Dan" then the meeting begins. That said, we have lots of summer replacements coming our way. However, on a personal note I can honestly say that I've never watched Dancing With The Stars. I'm still bruised that Melinda Dolittle did not win...ah there's always next season.
You, too? Hooked, I mean?? So are thousands upon thousands of others, including me. At least you can crochet: I make the world's longest chain stiches, can't connect them for B E A N S. Half the stitches too loose, the other half too tight, maybe a FEW just right: arrrrgggghhhhhhhhh. RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP!!! LOL I have poetry to fill my days without AI. :) As twin sis Karen said, we've been there from the beginning season when Burleson's own KELLY CLARKSON won. :) *hee hee* BRAGGIN rights! LOL
As for last night's show: Melinda Doolittle should have been in the finals; and *I* loved LaKeisha Jones, but since the voters didn't know WHAT DA HECK they were doing and voted 'em off, I was pulling for Jordin Sparks. Yay! She WON! LOL
They DID, however, get ONE thing right: voting Sanjaya off. They just should have done it S O O N E R. When he auditioned, he was good; he went downhill ever since.
Don't ya just LOVE the audition shows! ROTFLM*O!!!!
Me? No, wouldn't try out: know better. Simon would B U R Y me. LOL Paula would be her sweet self, and Randy "DAWG! What was that? Didn't do nuthin' for me, man." LOL
Now look what you made me do: digress! I LOVE YOUR POEM! I LOVE AI! I admit it, I'm HOOKED!!!!!! You, my dear, just took the prize for AI Poetry!
Read my story "American Idol And Other Things"; yeah, I am one of those "Idol Nutz" (as is my character, as you will see when you read her story). I have always loved the show, especially since the first season winner is from Burleson, Texas, where I live! We all went nuts when Kelly Clarkson won, and I even got the chance to meet her. She was very sweet! Got her autograph, too! :) Glad Jordin Sparks won; I didn't care for Blake Lewis or his beatbox style. To me that's just noise, not music.
