Please Pray for our Country

In 1947, our nation elected to remove God from our government through the “Separation of Church and State Ruling” – With a broken heart, our Lord complied with our wishes and the hedge of protection began to be dismantled within our nation.
 

In 1962, our children were denied the ability to pray within our schools, when it was always the Lord’s intention to have the children connect with their maker so their moral character could be established in the early years of development.  A deep and grievous sigh from heaven echoed within the prevailing winds across this country that day.  Again, the hedge began to open up where the beasts of the field were allowed entry into the heart of America.
 

In 1963, the bible was forbidden from places of education and deemed “psychologically harmful” to children and teachers who stressed the “golden rule principles” that it portrayed.  To love the Lord with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength and your neighbor as yourself were now considered unacceptable and unconstitutional. Again, the Lord just shook His head, knowing in His heart that the betrayal of America to their divine protector was now in full swing.  What added to the somberness of that day was the notable silence of the faithful as they hid within the four walls of the church.
 

In 1970, The Ten Commandments was ruled as being unconstitutional and unacceptable for meditation and consideration within our government, schools, and public places.  Another ruling, another betrayal, more of the hedge being plowed under - as heaven grieves and as the heart of God is further broken.

It was at this point of abandonment that the following scriptures were realized:
 

Romans 1:24-32
 

    ²⁴Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. ²⁵They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
 

    ²⁶Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. ²⁷In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.
 

    ²⁸Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. ²⁹They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, ³⁰slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; ³¹they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. ³²Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

 

In 1973, this country embraced Abortion as “Choice” and has contributed to the world-wide extermination of 126,000 unborn babies per day (46 Million per year).  Again, the church remained noticeable silent while God’s anger began to stir within.
 

Today we live in a country that arrests grandmothers in Pennsylvania for speaking the truth of Christ in love, while sexual deviancy is embraced as alternative and a cultural norm.   Hardcore pornography is now a $17 billion dollar a year industry that corrupts our youths, ruins marriages, and has infiltrated our homes in the name of freedom of speech.  This is not how it was meant to be within this country.  It is no wonder that this nation who’s people are divided and it open for attack from within and abroad?
 

Therefore my prayer for this nation is straight and to the point…
 

Dear Father in Heaven, I beseech you to restore this nation to the tenants of your guiding love and to re-build the hedge of protection that our people have willfully torn down. For only through repentance can we be reconciled to your will.  Release us from the bondage of sin which so prevalently reins within our nation.  We now live in a society that sin is hailed as mainstream and tolerance while those of moral character are ostracized and labeled as right wing bigots. 
 

Lord, please forgive our sins and convict our hearts unto repentance.  I ask you to bless the faithful and to inspire them to come out from amongst the four walls of the church to make a difference for your kingdom.  Lord, you mentioned in your word that “you will know them by their fruit” and that “a good tree cannot bear bad fruit”.  We also know that the only thing that you ever cursed was a tree that did not bear fruit.  Therefore, I beg you to equip and inspire the faithful to bear the fruit of moral integrity, truth, and justice that will give you glory.
 

Lord, please raise a generation of faithful disciples that are willing to step outside their comfort zones to retake this country from wicked leaders that are self-serving vs. serving the people according to our Constitution and in alignment to your will.  Please inspire the minds and hearts of your people to serve in all areas of government authority and political influence so we can change the laws to turn this country back to a nation guided by the principles of God.
