Moving gets rid of a lot of stuff
even though it can be tough
these Jeans no longer  my size
they don't take up much room
like this too small  snazzy vest
pack them in with all the rest
books books wherever I look
yet all are worthy to be took
all the knick-knacks I treasure
they give me so much pleasure
can't decide which to get rid of
every one that I look at I love
this moving is really a bitch
I can't decide what to ditch
oh give me wings so I can soar
away from this dastardly chore

You set the scene well, Eileen. It's been some time since I moved, but I've done it a lot in the past. This captures the anxiety of the moving spirit. Hugs,
Sheila

Dear, dear Eileen, how I feel for you. I've moved so many times in my life that I can do it like a robot - no feelings. When I moved here from Hawaii I had the movers do the packing. Would you believe that that's been almost three years and there are still boxes in the closet of a spare bedroom that haven't been unpacked. I'm not missing anything so their contents can't be important. If I ever open them and find knick-knacks they'll go to the thrift store. LOL

Know the feeling well and the way you have chioces and still can't decide. I'm living with boxes everywhere stacked around. Mariah and I make the big jump in two weeks. Since you'll have experience over us...wanna come east and show us how it's done?

Susan

Been there at least 13 times in my wife's thirty one years of marriage - I just play piano. That's thirteen years of saying what you have writeen, and thirteen years of humping around the same old ever expanding, no use stuff

Moving: it's one of life's little adventures; you just have to go with the flow and pray all goes well. I hope your move is a smooth one; you are in my thoughts! All the best to you, girl!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

I hate moving too Eileen.

"yet all are worthy to be took" cracked me up. I hate leaving books, no matter how tattered or dweebie they are.

I say get rid of it all and pretend you've just been born. Who knows ... maybe you'll find a new muse.

I have constantly been thinking about you, Eileen, and your exerting move; I've certainly not envied you. I look around myself and realize I can NEVER move from my home. Good that you take a rest and can poeticly vent your frustration :o) won't it be grand after the 1st??

Ho ho!! :)) My best to you, Eileen!! :)) At least perhaps you have only one decision to make, rather than a three-way split between "keep here, keep there, keep nowhere"... I wish you much peace and happiness in your new home and KNOW it will be a most thrilling and creative time as you birth into all things new... November 5th, huh? Our Guy Fawkes Night... I'll look out for the firecrackers in the sky signalling the place of your new abode!! :)) Glad to see you're still smilin!... Ah, but setting up your computer again? After a day runnin about to computer shops with a dodgy printer without which I just CANNOT work, I don't envy you that bit... LOL K xx

You have given a funny twist to quite a common and chorastic problem. Its brilliant!
I'll give you a suggestion Eileen. What you have to do is close your eyes before the heaps and count 1 mean keep 2 mean ditch and so on..... in the end you'll have a breath of relief. And you would have accomplished it with quite an ease.Believe me no need for wings.

And they will have wings to give you a chase as they love you as much as you love them. The books I keep in my house are part of the family. some of them are news magazines published ten years ago. I understand your frustrations dear Eileen. God bless you queen

this moving is really a bitch

And I can truly second that! I never even knew we had so many books and knick-knacks until we started packing - and all the junk we accumulated alongside all the treasures.

I wish you well, Tiger Lily - it surely ain't much fun at all.
