Sweet Cool Breaths
August 26, 2009
Written by: Rose Marie Rideout

Look at me slowly moving,
Into your room each night,
I keep you cool and calm,
as you turn out the lights.

I whisper sweet nothings,
Into your ear alone,
And no one really cares,

As I invade you in your home.

Feel my breath upon your cheek,
as you try so hard to rest,
I know you really want me,
You feel I am the best.

You close your eyes and wander
Into your dreams so real,
Yet you need to know I’m near,
You need each breath you steal.

I slip through your window,
When daytime turn to night,
Cooling you down from the heat,
I make the tempreture just right.

It’s when winter is upon you,
You pray to have some sun,
As you turn your back on me,
And to the warmth you run.

I’m just the breeze that cools you,
When you are hot at night,
Soon you’ll bar me from your window
As you turn out your light.

You’ll welcome the intruder,
As you pray for more sun,
For you won’t want me around,
For I’m no longer number one.

Rose, I consider myself more a novelist than a poet, although I have written a few poems, and this is the reason I so rarely review poetry. However, your "Sweet Cool Breaths" can cool my warm body any time you wish. Uh, with your husband's permission, of course.
Your friend, Mark

Enchanting! :) I love a summer breeze and to think, one day, I might lie under the trees of Eden and call for them, and they will come...

Love and Peace~
