Last night I read
Of 
A most remarkable couple
Married
Some eighty years ago
This very month;
They married so young,
And without the blessings
Of their respective families,
They saw the depression
And countless other
Hard times since,
Yet they stuck it out
And proved the naysayers
Wrong
Over and over
Again.
It was so refreshing
Reading
Of their commitment
To each other
Instead of reading
Of yet another
Celebrity union
Ending up on the rocks
Of self absorption,
And I found myself wishing
"God bless 'em!"
Before I realized
He already has...
