“He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has.” (Epictetus)
Here we are
Making the best
Of a dangerous
Situation,
Where we must all
Stay home,
Protecting ourselves
And each other
From sickness
And possible death.
Our home,
Once thought to be
Large and roomie

A matchbox,
Our patience
Like tinder
Awaiting
A fire.
Yet,
Despite these things,
We hold on to
One another,
You and I,
Respecting our boundaries
And giving us space,
Keeping our hearts
Entwined
And united;
We are
Grateful
We have
One another,
That we can still
Hope,
Touch,
And love,
Can still dream
And plan
For a future
Some day;
We remain
Grateful
For each other, and
Grateful
We remain
Safe--
Together.
