“Men trust God by risking rejection. Women trust God by waiting.”
Carolyn McCulley
Night is closing in.
The stars are appearing,
Crickets and frogs are
Making their presence known,
A lonesome owl whoos
From somewhere deep
In the nearby woods,
The air is soft and fragrant
With the scents
Of honeysuckle and
Freshly mown grass,
And the old swing creaks
As I sway gently
Back and forth
Back and forth.
I am relaxed as I wait
For I know you'll come,
You said you would
And you've never
Let me down;
So I sit
And I swing
As the night closes in
Around me.
