Poor thing. Shriveled away without a soul to care for her....

Oh, such a pretty lassie when she was young Love was alive and she loved men Dare I say she would have danced and sung Many times over if she had found �him� And lived a happy life filled with items other than wifely Indeed, her life would have been happier than humming a hymn Destiny, though, made her withdraw from everything lifely. � George E Thompson

This reminds me of the game I played when I was young..."Old Maid"
Whenever I was dealt the old maid, it made me think, why would anyone choose such a life, but there are those that actually do!
Then there are those who were given no choice, I'm sure...
Sad to hear of anyone going through life without that special someone to share it with...Destiny, I guess?

This is sad.....but in my next life...I want to be that maid's fat cat...and the man who gave me hell in this life...must be a little birdie in her garden..oh boy I am sure he will never have a moment of peace....lol!!

A waisted life if given the chance for companionship and let it pass her by. Maybe she was just a contrary person who wanted to make her own life miserable. Thanks for sharing George.

Sometimes fate can be cruel, but there are other times when we lose a chance because of our phobias or couldn't care less attitude. Who knows? I do pity women who would have married given a chance. They grow old and forgotten. Victor

George, good write. I do have a question though. If someone totally believes in destiny and nothing good happens in their life, does that make that person a fatilist? Just curious. Again, very good write.
