My mother-in-law passed away 2 years ago and this is a tribute to her. Above is the last photo taken of Donna on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2006.
It is hard to usher in the Spring
It was your favorite time of year
To watch the new life all around
And all the lovely sounds to hear
You loved the birds, to watch them gather
Building their nests and making anew
To hear them sing and watch them flying
Brought happiness and joy to you
If you were here, you’d be so cheerful
Smiling and talking and singing songs
Beaming with light, laughing and giving
Making nice and righting wrongs
We miss your voice, your smile, your hugs,
But most of all, we miss your love
But it has been here all along
Surrounding and comforting us from above
~And though the bird has been silenced
Its song still lingers with us forever~
