I know what you mean, Karla, even though my mother is alive. I have an aunt that died when I was nine and I still feel her absence. A short yet powerful tribute. ~~Nordette

Nothing is as powerful as a photo that speaks as poignantly as your motherly haiku. She has never left; your poem is evidence of her spirit within you.
Your simple words reach in and grab my heart twisting it from my chest. My own mother died two years ago this month. It was like a book closed.
Hugs,
Mari

My mother passed away four years ago on March 15, 2001 at the age of 90 but not a day goes by that I do not think of her. This is a beautiful senyu Karla.
How sad Karla...My mother, even though she was mean to me during her lifetime, I cannot hate her, passed away February, 1997 of lung cancer. I wouldn't have wished that on anyone. I think the reason my mother was mean to me was because she didn't trust males. I'm not sure. But anyway, I can't hate her, because she was my mother. Thnx for your well wishing for me tonight. May the Lord be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & (((HUGS))), Barbie
What more needs to be said than this, Karla? Both the visual and your 17 well-chosen syllables express the inexpressible with a depth of feeling that says more than all the most decorative and "full-on" spilling of thoughts ever could do. Love the ideas that Eileen has shared with you and truly believe that there must be a lot of truth in what she says. This attachment will stay with you forever, and I believe and trust that you will be together again one day. She has never let you go! Bless you, love and prayers Kate xx
Very beautiful Karla! The simplicity makes this tribute all the more stunning! Losing a mother is losing the greatest of all bonds due to the womb in which she embraced us. It is a mystery how much we have learned from those nurturing months connected by a miraculous umbilical chord. The yearn for that womb is great,so we mourn with good reason when we lose our mothers. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you think of her Karla!
Wonderful tribute to our mother; she is still missed even now, fifteen years later! I will never forget her as long as I live; she died too young and too soon! Very well done; brava!
