Please keep the Pierson family of Burleson, TX, in your prayers.

A friend's 17 year old son passed away during surgery this week; it is to the memory of Ricky that I repost this.

"Look To The Sky" (Eulogy)

Do not mourn my passing, for I am not here.
There is no need for sadness, no need for tears.
When you want to remember, look to the sky.
That is where you will find me, I did not die.

I am the wind as it brushes your hair.
I am the spring morning, gentle and fair.
I am the night dance of the Northern Lights.
I am the sunrise, so golden and bright.

I am the rain gently kissing your face.
I am the stars you see in outer space.
I am the lightning announcing the storm.
I am clouds taking unusual forms.

I am the mountain peaks touching the sky.
I am the eagle you see soaring high.
I am a shooting star, so wild and free.
I am whatever you want me to be.

Do not mourn my passing, for I am not here.
There is no need for sadness, no need for tears.
When you want to remember, look to the sky.
That is where you will find me, I did not die.

Every parents biggest fear.
Great tribute, but one sure can empathise in the pain, of a young life..

Yep, when life and death force us down... look up!! The first time I really "heard" God speak to me personally, I think, was when my estranged father died... I lay on the couch weeping with my eyes shut - not asleep - and a kind of "waking dream" came actually before my eyes: visually, like a dream, but not in my imagination. It was of the roots of a tree, covered in dry leaves. A voice inside my head which wasn't mine gently said: "Why are you looking at the roots? Look up!" - and the "picture" scanned upwards, to where the sunlight danced and played above the leaves. The intensity of the light and peace was immense. I couldn't grieve after that. I just share this in the hope that a similar moment of comfort might bless this bereaved family and friends and fill their hearts and minds with faith and hope. This is a human tragedy for those who remain, but my belief is that Ricky is in an altogether better place forever, where time is less measured by days. My love and prayers are with those you mention who are left to mourn. Bless you for this beautiful eulogy - I hope you will send it to the family. TY Kate xx
