Yesterday, the 12th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing; today, the 8th anniversary of Columbine; today, a national day of mourning for 32 innocents killed at VA Tech. When is the madness going to end? When are we ever going to learn? Or is it too late? Mostly: WHY????

Poem Artwork

... they say the answer is blowing in
the wind; i'm standing here, feeling
the tears on my face; feeling the
breeze; but it brings no comfort, does
not answer the question ... why ?

they say the answer comes to those
who wait; i've waited a long time; i
feel the sadness of lessons unlearned;
question man's inhumanity to man;
i scream to the universe above  ...  why ??

another disaster; another period of
mourning in the morning; another day
of infamy that will be remembered for
its pain; their pain; our pain; and still,
the answers are slow in coming   ...   why ???

Karla, Pain is pain, and as I sit here feeling my own pain I can understand what your going through. I wish I could tell you, or myself, the answer to your question. why? For now, as the Prophet Jacob said when his sons threw their brother Yusuf into the well.

(Patience is beautiful).

Karla, there are no answers to the questions, just a hollow feeling of despair. Out of it may come a sense of perspective, but satisfactory answers? No way...

Karla today we saw the students at Tech having a dog wash and they played baseball for the first time yesterday since the tragedy. You see the object is that they not give in to the madman that killed their fellow students. I believe they will prevail by doing things such as helping to wash dogs which made them all feel better. It was a productive thing to do. You do not let evil win by stop going to classes. You become what the professor that died for his students wanted. That was achieve their potential and accomplish their goals and make this world a better place. Perhaps there is one like my nephew who changed his major for a more positive outcome in order to find the answers and ways to improve our environment. Or the cures to disease such as muscle dystophy as the one Professor was working on. His students can honor him by continuing and finishing the work he started. More on this later.

Wonderful write dear friend, a question that only one word can answer...Satan! I think that our society has slowly forgotten to teach their children about God, His laws, His ways. Over a period of time God has been taken out of public school, many public buildings, and many homes. As time has progressed new technology, entertainment, and other conveniences have become abundant to people causing many to get their priorities confused allowing the love of sin to overshadow their love of God! As time has passed this type of behavior has trickled down like a dominoe effect, creating a generation where the multitude of people do not acknowledge God in anyway. Drugs prescribed and nonprescription along with alcohol are consuming peoples minds, and affecting their offspring. Educators are just now seeing many of the effects of the great consumption of drugs has had on children. Sad when a child comes into the world with an addiction to drugs, and is severly depressed at the age of six, and has no clue who Jesus is...is the type of child who becomes capable of committing the hideous crimes that we are witnessing, If they do not get help somewhere, teachers, pastors, doctors, anyone! The warning signs are always evident, but what really bothers me...is that they don't see them or acknowledge them until after the crime has been committed. Well, dear friend, you've given me much to think about with your deep and thoughtful write...I guess I should get down off of my soap box, and move on...lots of reviews to catch up on today! sometimes when a write touches as deeply as yours has, I just can't seem to stop. Hope you have a wonderful weekend dear friend!
Blessings from Kentucky,

Karla ,a thoughtful sad lament with a question that is best answered with the word CHOICE! Creator gave us a choice, and if we choose wrong it is our fault not His! We are not robots to be directed by Him every moment. That's why He gave everyone the same choice. Live
according to His plan or don't. That's the choice! Even psycopaths like Cho,have a choice and he chose to do what he did , no one forced him to or helped him. God never intervenes in choice! It is up to us to learn of Him, we all have ample opportunity to do so.

Love,
Eileen

... Perhaps, for good or bad, the human heart will never be tamed and yet is the source of all intents and actions that affect not only ourselves but our neighbour and our world. It can't be legislated against, it can only grow according to the seed that is within it. It's fruit is in all of our lives, either to feed or to poison. Just a thought, Karla... but, like you, I am empty-handed here... but my heart is full. I grieve with you for all the causes, and all the effects. Bless you, Kate xx

Unfortunately, people are human or better yet, some are inhuman to the point of insanity. Wouldn't it be nice if we could legislate morality...but alas, we can't and we have to endure the hostile, violent actions of those who, for whatever reason need to rain down terror. In my lifetime, I wish the hatred would stop so people could embrace each other as a whole, with compassion and love. My prayer!

Unfortunatly there will never be a pat answer for people who are mentally ill and commit these crimes against humanity. Your write brings the madness to the forefront and makes us recognize the insanity of it though.

We are witness to the wickest of man, when we allowed others to be bullied to the point of exploding madness.
Perhaps if he had a few someones that saw a lonely soul being pestered for the sole reason of bein different and make him welcomed..
Maybe if we intervene when the first signals, aloofness+bullying+irritabily we can stop any other to explode.
The answer is in ourselves.

Karla~

No matter how often tragedies happen, we are left wondering why these things have to occur. Maybe one day the answers to our unanswered questions will be revealed when the Good Lord comes back; until then, we must wait, wonder, and grieve along with those most afffected; no, in a way we were ALL affected by these tragedies. God help us in our time of need...

Powerful pen you have created today; may God be with those at VT and those remembering Columbine and the Oklahoma City bombing; may it never happen again!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your twin sister, Karen Lynn. :( >tears! <
